My Wonderful Class of Kindergarteners…

Grinch Day Fun!

We had a very fun Grinch Day!! We did a lot of fun grinch activities…we made Grinch headbands, did a Grinch math activity, made a Grinch face craft, read a story about the Grinch and answered questions, enjoyed some green Grinch juice and got to bring home a green candy cane. We even got to watch the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We had fun seeing a lot of green in our classroom and even some silly hair! It was a fun day!

A Week of Learning and Exciting Activities!

This week we worked on many skills but added a fun holiday theme to them! We also enjoyed making a special gift for our parents! (Mrs. Baker had fun having her parents and daughter  come in to help the kids decorate their gift)!

The Final Destination of the Gingerbread Man…

The Gingerbread Man stopped at his final destination…The United States of America. We talked about our flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Statue of Liberty, and where we live in America.

Gingerbread Man Tasting!

This week we had fun taste testing a Gingerbread Man cookie. Most of the kids liked it, but not all of them! We voted on if we liked the taste of it or not and then talked about which had more votes…yes, we liked it or no, we didn’t like it. It was a fun activity!!

Polar Bear Writing!

This week we wrote a pattern book similar to Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? By Bill Martin Jr. and illustrated by Eric Carle. We wrote pattern sentences about what the polar bear sees and then got to choose our own animal we wanted the polar bear to see at the end. We made polar bears to decorate our sentences.

Outstanding!

We celebrated learning that another one of our friends in our class was noticed for being an outstanding student! Evelyn is an example of how to be nice to everyone, work hard all the time and learn well at Georgetown! We are so proud of you Evie!!

Fifth Grade Buddies!

We enjoyed having our fifth grade buddies come to our room for a fun craft! We always enjoy it when we get together with our fifth grade friends! We made cute gingerbread houses!

Mystery Reader!

Zachary’s mom came in on Friday as a Mystery Reader. Zachary was so excited to see his mom come through the door. She read us the story, Gingerbread Man on the Loose at the Zoo.

Our Holiday Party!

We had such a great time at our holiday party on Thursday! Thank you to all of the parents who helped us celebrate and have a fun time together! We enjoyed many fun games, crafts and snacks!

Polar Express!

We ended our week by having a fun Polar Express day! The kids “traveled” to each kindergarten room and watched part of the movie. We had “train tracks” in our classroom that the kids walked over to get onto the “train.” We even had sleigh bells delivered to our classroom. The kids finished our Polar Express day by enjoying some hot cocoa! What a fun way to end our week!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your time with family and friends this holiday season!
