Park Play Dates…

Let’s meet on the kindergarten playground at Georgetown Elementary this summer to get to know each other and have some fun playing! I thought it would be fun to meet ahead of the open house and ease some of the worries about starting kindergarten!

The dates that I will be at Georgetown and would love to have you meet me at the playground are…

Monday, July 2 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Wednesday, July 18 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Tuesday, August 7 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Welcome to Mrs. Baker’s Kindergarten Classroom!

You are visiting my blog because you’ll be in my room next year! I am thrilled to welcome you and your child to my classroom!

COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER...

Day 1 – BUBBLE GUM DAY…

We had a fun day tasting and chewing 3 different kinds of bubble gum! We voted if we liked bubble gum or not. Most of us did! We made a bubble gum craft to end our fun day!

PEN PALS…

We had a delivery to our classroom this week…pen pal letters!! We got letters from Mrs. Stutz’s class. We had so much fun reading them and writing them back!!

Day 2 – ICE CREAM DAY…

When we popped our balloon today, we found out it was ice cream day!! We colored cute ice cream pictures and had ice cream with sprinkles!! Yummy!!

FIFTH GRADE BUDDIES…

Our fifth grade buddies came to have a fun celebration with us on Tuesday afternoon. They wrote a story and we had to guess who it was about. It was all about us!! They made us beautiful bookmarks, we had yummy popsicles and got to play together on the playground!!

Day 3 – SIDEWALK CHALK DAY…

We had fun drawing with sidewalk chalk outside today! 

FATHER’S DAY CRAFTS…

Dad’s, grandpa’s and uncles we hope you enjoy the Father’s Day crafts that we made for you with love from your kinder!! Happy Father’s Day!!

Day 4 – POPCORN & MOVIE DAY…

We had a fun afternoon watching Curious George 2 and munching on yummy popcorn!!

MYSTERY READERS…

We had fun having 2 mystery readers this week!! Landon’s mom surprised Landon when she came to read to our class. She read us a Fly Guy book that we loved!! We also got to enjoy popsicles after the story! Juliet’s mom surprised us by being a mystery reader this week too. We enjoyed listening to one of our favorite stories, The Cat in the Hat. We got to enjoy a Twizzlers after we heard the book!

POPSICLE CRAFT…

Day 5 – SCIENCE EXPERIMENT DAY…

We had a lot of fun getting together with Mrs. Stutz’s class and doing some fun science experiments!! We made water walk, put Mentos into Diet Coke and put colored pencils through a plastic bag filled with water!! Wow…was it fun!!

WE ARE O”FISH”ALLY 1ST GRADERS!!!

HAVE BUCKETS OF FUN THIS SUMMER!!

WE HAD 178 DAYS OF FUN IN KINDERGARTEN & NOW WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO 1ST GRADE!!

This Week in Kindergarten…

Reading: In reading this week, we had a lot of fun performing a reader’s theater!! The Kinders had so much fun, they want to do another play next week!!

Math: In math this week, we finished our last math unit of the year. We took our unit 5 math test. I am so proud of how much the Kinders have learned this year!!

American Symbols: We continued to learn about American symbols this week. The Kinders learned all about the bald eagles and also learned how to draw the white house! 

Fun in Kindergarten: We had a fun week in kindergarten!! It’s hard to believe our school year is coming to an end…to hard to think about!! 

 

Mystery Reader: Ivy’s mom came in her nurse’s uniform and taught us all about what nurses do! She also read us 3 books…we had so much fun listening to her read to us!!

Kindergarten Olympics: We had a fun-filled sunny day at our kindergarten olympics!! The kids, parents and teachers had so much fun playing games all morning!! Thank you to everyone for helping make our day such a success!!
