This Week in Kindergarten…

Math: During math this week, we learned more about greater than, less than and equal numbers. The Kinders are doing a great job with this! We also practiced addition and subtraction facts, they are doing more and more independently and are doing amazing!

Writing: This week during writing, we wrote our final opinion writing piece. The Kinders practiced giving their opinions about what their favorite restaurant is, telling two reasons why it’s their favorite and giving a closing sentence.

Reading: During reading this week, we practiced reading about American symbols and then answering comprehension questions that matched what we read. It was fun to watch them learn about the U.S.A.

Literacy Centers: During our literacy centers this week, the Kinders practiced many different skills. They wrote lists of friends, wrote about their favorite thing in school, did a color by sight word, colored and put in order the life cycle of the butterfly, read books and worked on the h brothers.

Mystery Reader: Kennedy was so surprised when her mom, dad and little sister came through the door. Her mom and dad both read a book to the class. It was fun to have them visit our classroom! We love mystery readers!

Mystery Reader: Kylee was thrilled when her mom came to our classroom to read this week too! She read us a fun book called There Was an Odd Prince Who Swallowed a Pea. It was a fun story!

American Symbols: On Friday, we had some fun learning more about American symbols. The Kinders looked so cute in their red, white and blue!

Show and Tell: The Kinders LOVED sharing their show and tell item with the class! It was fun for them to take turns sharing something special to them. Everyone had fun listening to others share!
